Vacancy for Town Councillor - Election

Church Stretton (South Ward) currently has a vacancy for a Town Councillor which is being filled by election.

Nominations close on 31st October 2014 at 4 pm.  Election to take place on 27th November 2014.The Town Council meets 9 times per year with various committees (Amenities, Finance & General Purposes, Economic Development and Planning) meeting 4, 5 and 25 times (respectively); plus various smaller ad-hoc committees and an Annual Assembly once per year.  Working groups and task and finish groups are formed as and when required.
There are certain criteria you will need to meet to enable you to stand for election such as being a resident of the Parish (or within 3 miles of the Parish) and/or working in the Parish - a full list is included in the information pack with the nomination papers.
The Town Council is non Party Political and Councillors give their time freely to serve the community.
