Appeal for Special Constables and Police Volunteers

Published: 30th May, 2014

During a recent presentation at StrettonDale Local Joint Committee, Sgt Adrian Wooley appealed for volunteers for community work with the Police. People of any age or any walk of life may apply (a barrister in Cleobury Mortimer is a volunteer). Volunteers could give assistance with case building, researching data, contacting victims and helping with operational work - just a few of the possible tasks.
The appeal is going out to all areas of Shropshire, not just StrettonDale, and it is impossible to name specific tasks as they vary from area to area and some may be confidential. The work could be station-based or within the community, working with the Safer Neighbourhood Team.
There are probably many people out there with exactly the skills required, and this could be voluntary work - with a difference!
If anyone is interested in becoming a volunteer they should speak with P.S. Sgt Adrian Wooley, Safer Neighbourhood Team, 0300 333 3000 Extn 66601. Or, Mick Jones at the Harm Reduction Office, based in Shrewsbury. Mick manages and administrates Police Volunteers along with other areas of police work, and can be contacted via 101.
