Onny Meadows (7 miles)

Craven Arms

the Onny Meadows has evolved into a place where visitors can see a selection of very different art installations – ranging from the world’s largest Willow Telescope, through to a giant have-a-go Glockenspiel. Each of the works have been installed over the last three years, and are now being added to on a regular basis. They also include a gigantic Dragonfly, Tree Drums, a wood carving of a Leaping Fish on an old forgotten tree, and The Hide/Reveal Shed where it’s possible to look at the Onny Meadows from an entirely different perspective. Kids will love this interactive meadow.

Onny Meadows takes its name from the River Onny which runs next to the boundary - the meadow is part of the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. The hard-packed, generally level, surfaced paths provide a half-mile (700m) circuit. In very wet weather the paths can be boggy in places but are generally very good.
