The Visitor Information Centre comprises the Information Centre, a Computer Suite, a Service Access Interview Room and a new wheelchair-friendly entrance shared with the Library.

It has information on facilities in the area including guest accommodation and can make bookings with hotels, guest houses, bed & breakfast accommodation, inns, self-catering, caravan and camp sites. All properties which can be booked through the VIC are required to be inspected and classified under the Visit Britain, AA and RAC harmonised scheme. The VIC carries a wide range of leaflets, booklets, and books about the area especially suitable for walkers of all grades.

Beginning October - end March - 9.30 - 5pm - closed for lunch 12.30 - 1.30 pm

Local bus and rail timetables are stocked and blue badges issued. Concessionary travel pass forms available and verification checks done.
