Some 50 years ago I visited family friends who kept a pub in Church Stretton. The publicans were called Arthur and Marjorie. I can't remember their surname. I'm writing a book and want to mention the pub, as it had the ghost of a little old lady in black, who would walk past the kitchen window. Does anyone know what the name of the pub is/was? Many thanks for your time. Chas Griffin

It would be useful to have a map of area with map ref for Hotels , Guest House, Churches, Bars and Restraunts etc

As a member of the community I would like to see a forum here on the site. It would allow people living in Stretton to advertise community events and allow discussions on local issues.

Please can people stop having bonfires? It seems every day in the summer somebody decides to burn something. We can't use our garden, have the windows open or hang out washing. It's so frustrating! At the moment there is ash raining down into our garden and, despite it being a lovely day, myself and my daughter are stuck inside with the windows closed, our hair and clothes stink of smoke just from going out to rescue the washing... which is in the machine again. It's really inconsiderate to have a bonfire on a lovely day!

Thank you for the wonderful site! Two generations of us are planning to travel to Church Stretton next year in hopes of finding some information on our Grandmother & Great Grandmother, Evelyn Banks born in 1908. Any info would be great!
