New House Farm - Update

Published: 3rd November, 2015

The photograph above, taken from Caer Caradoc, looks down on the site at New House Farm, which has for the last year been under threat from a planning application submitted by Morris Property for 85 (reduced to 65) houses and 16 holiday chalets.

At the eleventh hour Morris Property withdrew the planning application much to the surprise of everyone.

The Shropshire Council planning officer, Grahame French had recommended to the members of the South Planning Committee that they should consider refusal of the application when they met on the 3rd November.

Virtually all the community will breathe a sigh of relief (for the moment at least) in the hope that the magnificent setting of Caer Caradoc and Helmeth Hill & Wood as well as the listed buildings of New House Farm, will remain intact for the enjoyment of generations to come.
