Becoming a Fairtrade town gives a powerful message about how our community wants trade to work. A Fairtrade town is a community that makes a collective commitment to fair trade - it helps to bring people together and to raise an awareness and a better understanding of trade issues.
Mayfair is now working with the Community Council of Shropshire to provide a Carers Support Service on behalf of Shropshire Council.
Stretton Climate Care can now arrange free loft and cavity wall insulation for most domestic properties. There are no age or income criteria, although there is a small surcharge if your home is bigger than average. This funding is available for a limited time, so Act Now!
Three schemes are offering grant funding to benefit community groups in the County.
Church Stretton Town Council offices, and the house next door, are to be made energy efficient with a £24,000 grant received from the Department of Energy.

Skips for Cardboard now in Church Stretton

There are now two skips available for cardboard, alongside the other skips in the Lion Meadow car park, opposite the Co-op.
The Southern Area Planning Committee of Shropshire Council decided this week to overturn the decision it took at its last meeting in October to proceed with the pavement widening of Church Stretton High Street.
