June 16: Impacts and extinctions
The extinction that wiped out the dinosaurs was an impact by a 10 km asteroid. What happened during this catastrophic event? Have other mass extinctions been caused by impacts and what is the chance of another one?
Nov 17: Life on other worlds?
Earth is the only place in the Universe where we know there is life. Are we alone, or is there life on other planets? If there is how will we find it?
