Strettton Area Food Trail

Food Trail

After sampling the delights of Church Stretton itself, why not go further afield to some of the other superb food and ale outlets in the area – this trail takes you on a journey around the best…

Turn right at the traffic lights and head towards Craven Arms. Three miles out of Church Stretton is the Strefford Hall Farm Shop which stocks a wide range of local produce –meat, vegetables and choice delicatessen items. Nearby is Shropshire Honey at Felhampton, then onwards to Wistanstow, where Woods Brewery brew superb beer – 'Shropshire Lad' is everyone's favourite, and the brew house shop will oblige.

Turn back towards Church Stretton, and eventually take the Much Wenlock road (B4371) into Apedale (the valley of the bees). Wenlock Edge Farm is your first stop – pork, ham, bacon, and a truly authentic variety of sausages, setting your taste buds alive.

Pure sparkling and still spring water is available at Wenlock Water at Wolverton just under Wenlock Edge. Nick's Chicks are at Eaton under Heywood – so get your eggs here, whilst
just up the road at Wilderhope Manor Farm, you can get your spring lamb joints.

Make your way below Wenlock Edge to Park Gate Farm, where you can purchase beef, lamb and pork, then through Cardington to Leebotwood. Here Brook House Farm has a tempting range of vegetables and soft fruits, as well as some grocery items.
