ChurchStrettonTown Council seeks:
to provide excellent services at best value
to meet the needs and improve the well-being of all the residents of the town
to protect and enhance the amenity and environment of the town in respect of its buildings and landscape
to ensure a sustainable and vibrant community for the continuing benefit of residents, visitors and businesses.
Composition
Church Stretton is the second largest Market Town in South Shropshire. The Town Council area includes the villages of All Stretton, Little Stretton, Minton and Hamperley with a total population of around 4,200 and an electorate of around 3,600.
The Council area comprises 4 wards, each ward is represented by a number of Councillors.

Grants and Donations
The Town Council makes grants to local organisations and projects such as the Arts Festival, Christmas lights, Silvester Horne Institute. Applications for Grants should be made to the Town Council in the first instance.
Planning Applications
The Town Council is not responsible for Planning Decisions as these are made by Shropshire Council. The Town Council comments on all local planning applications to assure conformance with the Town Design Statement.
Political Affiliations
Church Stretton Town Councillors aim to do their best for the community as a whole without recourse to Party Political affiliations.

Employment
We are a very busy Council with many responsibilities for such a small organisation with a limited income. The Council employs one full-time Town Clerk, one full-time Personal Assistant and three part-time office staff; four full-time and one part-time outdoor staff plus a part-time Outdoor Staff Team Leader.
Availability of Information
A Schedule of meetings is published annually and amended from time to time. Agendas and Minutes are published for each meeting along with appropriate supporting documents. Meetings cycle for 2012.
Public Notices are published on the web site and are displayed on Notice Boards around the town.
A copy of the CSTC Model Publication Scheme can be inspected at the Council Office.
