Situated in the hamlet of Ticklerton just 2 miles from Church Stretton, the Orchards is on the edge of Ticklerton on the Eaton road, with magnificent views across the Apedale.

The Orchards is a 4.5 acre smallholding and guests may wander around the property at will. We are surrounded by wonderful countryside with many walks. Although we do not serve an evening meal there are several local pubs within 2-3 miles and Church Stretton town nearby.

Within easy driving distance are towns such as:

  • Shrewsbury, a busy bustling town with a wealth of old buildings,
  • Ludlow, a pretty town with a castle where a festival is held each year,
  • Ironbridge with its internationally acclaimed museums,
  • Bridgnorth with a restored steam railway and its split between high town and low town.

Further afield are Offas Dyke and the welsh border lands, while just down the road is Acton Scott working farm museum. Here you can experience how farming used to be and see demonstrations of old crafts

Breakfast is served in the dinning room which looks onto the patio and orchard. Guests are welcome to use this room and patio at any time of day.

There are three guest rooms all on the first floor.

  • Room 1 is a family room with en-suite and shower,
  • Room 2 is a twin room with en-suite and shower,
  • Room 3 is a double room with private bathroom and whirlpool bath.

All rooms have TV, hairdryer, radio alarm and tea/coffee facilities

To find us take the B4371 Much Wenlock road from the Church Stretton traffic lights, after about 1 mile you will reach Hope Bowdler at the bottom of the bank, turn right and follow this road until you reach Ticklerton. At the T-junction turn right and then the next left. The Orchards is the last house in the village on the left hand side.

The Orchards is open all year with the exception of Christmas Day and proprietors' holidays. We regret we cannot accommodate children under three or pets.

Rates are £35 per person per night for one or two nights, and £30 per person per night for additional nights.  Children under 12 are £10 per child per night when sharing parents' room.
